England will start treating COVID-19 much like the flu.
40% of the population infected by a single pathogen (Omicron) in the span of 8 weeks has ended masks and vaccine passports in England.
Flu seasons generally have perhaps 10% of the population infected in the span of 16 weeks. Having ~40% of the population infected by a single pathogen in the span of 8 weeks is remarkable and I can’t think of an obvious modern precedent. It is a big scale up from Alpha or even Delta. These vaccines are amazing. Where do I sign up?
