What ‘False Positives’ In Diagnostic Testing Really Mean

Many people still don’t ‘get’ false positives for PCR tests. Of course cycle thresholds too high etc increases false positives, but elephant in room is underlying infection rate. When it’s very low the proportion of false positives is high even if false positive rate is low.
