Sermon Notes Series: Seven Revelations of Faith (BH).
Everything you receive from God comes through faith, the key to victory and holding onto His promises. Each day, you choose to trust in God’s invisible power for miracles or to lean on the natural world’s limitations. The faith God desires is one that sees the invisible, believes the impossible, and achieves the incredible. Based on Hebrews 11:1-6, this article explores seven revelations of faith and how to develop them for a transformed life.
The Seven Revelations of Faith
- Faith Enables You to Receive Substance
Hebrews 11:1 states, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for.” Faith operates in the present, not the past or future, birthing spiritual realities into the material world. Unlike hope, which is mental (Romans 10:10), faith springs from the heart, giving tangible form to God’s promises. - Faith Enables You to Receive Evidence
Also in Hebrews 11:1, faith is “the evidence of things not seen.” Living by faith empowers you to act on the invisible, shifting your perspective from the physical to the spiritual. Your walk with God reflects this evidence, guided by the “eyes of faith” rather than natural senses. - Faith Enables You to Obtain a Good Report in God’s Sight
Hebrews 11:2 says, “For by it the elders obtained a good report.” Your life’s true value lies in how God sees you. Like the Old Testament elders, faith secures His approval, transcending human judgment. - Faith Enables You to Understand Spiritual Things
Hebrews 11:3 reveals, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God.” Faith imparts understanding beyond human logic, enabling you to receive and sustain miracles like healing, not by explaining them, but by trusting. - Faith Enables You to Offer a More Excellent Sacrifice
Hebrews 11:4 notes, “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain.” Faith fuels a heart-level sacrifice of praise, independent of emotions or circumstances. True praise, rooted in faith, honors God even when life is challenging. - Faith Enables You to Be Translated from the Natural to the Spiritual
Hebrews 11:5 states, “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death.” Faith moves you from darkness to light, bondage to liberty, aligning you with God’s Kingdom. Trials, as Acts 14:22 suggests, refine this translation process. - Faith Enables You to Please God
Hebrews 11:5-6 adds that Enoch pleased God before his translation, and “without faith it is impossible to please Him.” Pleasing God requires believing in His existence and His reward for those who seek Him diligently.
Developing Your Faith
Faith begins with the measure God gives (Romans 12:3) and grows through hearing and believing His Word (Romans 10:17). Abraham’s journey illustrates this: from weakness and fear to strong faith, affirmed by declaring his new name, “father of many nations” (Romans 4:20-21). Each time he spoke it, his faith increased, proving that consistent confession builds faith.
Results of Developed Faith
As faith matures in these revelations, it yields:
- Justification (Romans 5:1)
- Security (1 Peter 1:5)
- Answered Prayer (Mark 11:24)
- Healing (James 5:15)
- Victory (1 John 5:4)
- Purity (Acts 15:9)
- Walking by Faith, Not Sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Conclusion
Faith is your daily choice to trust God’s invisible power over natural circumstances. These seven revelations—substance, evidence, a good report, understanding, sacrifice, translation, and pleasing God—unlock His promises. Develop your faith through prayer, Scripture, and confession, as Abraham did. Start today with this prayer: “Father, grow my faith to see the invisible, believe the impossible, and please You. Amen.” With each step, you’ll experience His miraculous power.
