Vaccine Efficacy Against Death For NSW Australia 16 Jan 2022 was POSITIVE +2.5%

Because of limited data available I decided to try and work out vaccine effectiveness against death by simply looking at the percentage difference in hospitalisation and percentage of deaths between the vaxxed and the unvaxxed.

DATA:

In Hospital:

Vaxxed 68.9%
Unvaxxed 28.8%

Deaths:

Vaxxed 14 ppl
Unvaxxed 6 ppl

Calculation:

Vaccine Efficacy Against Death:

VED = +2.5%

Today’s data is showing positive (neutral) vaccine efficacy against death for hospitalised patients. Equivalent to placebo.

In the 24-hour reporting period to 8pm last night:

Of the 20 people who died; 14 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 and six people were not vaccinated.
