Development of corona drug, national support of 800 million yen Target of ivermectin
Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has decided to support Kowa’s antiparasitic drug “ivermectin” for about 810 million yen in order to support the development of a therapeutic drug for the new coronavirus. The money will mostly pay for clinical trials.
Ivermectin is approved in Japan as an antiparasitic drug, but not approved as a therapeutic drug for the new corona but it is NOT blocked like in other nations.
